Job summary

Randstad Canada in North York, ON, is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to lead the design, deployment, migration, and daily operation of next‑gen enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure. This 7‑month contract is fully onsite at our North York location.

The role requires extensive hands-on Palo Alto firewall and Cisco SD‑WAN expertise, strong routing knowledge (OSPF/BGP), and experience with network automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Palo Alto firewall installation, configuration, Panorama management and daily operation.
• Cisco SD-WAN implementation, template/policy configuration, migration, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Advanced IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) across firewalls and SD-WAN devices.
• Datacenter switching and L2/L3 network architecture, including Nexus 9K series.
• Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins) and Aruba ClearPass.
• Degree in CS or EE or 7–10 years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level and low-level network design workbooks and specifications for LAN/WAN deployments.
• Configure, deploy, migrate, and troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN environments with policies.
• Install and manage Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama; integrate cloud logging.
• Implement dynamic routing across SD-WAN and high-availability firewalls (OSPF/BGP).
• Physically install and configure routers, switches, OOB devices and network gear.
• Design and enforce QoS/traffic shaping for voice, video, and critical apps.
• Deploy identity management and NAC solutions using Aruba ClearPass.
• Drive automation and deployment through Ansible and API scripting frameworks.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support during pilot and operation phases.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level and low-level network design workbooks and technical specifications for enterprise LAN and WAN deployments.
• Configure, deploy, migrate, and troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) environments, including central and local policies for traffic and application-aware routing.
• Install, configure, and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama centralized management, and Cloud Logging solutions.

• Perform physical installation and configuration of routers, LAN switches, Out-of-Band (OOB) management firewalls, and network devices.

• Deploy identity management and network access control solutions using Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager.
• Drive network configuration management and deployment automation using Ansible and API scripting frameworks.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support enterprise network environments during pilot and operational deployment phases.

Qualifications

• Palo Alto Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, Panorama management, and daily operation of Palo Alto Firewalls (Strictly Required).
• Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela): Proven experience in Cisco SD-WAN implementation, template/policy configuration, migration, and advanced troubleshooting (Strictly Required).
• Advanced IP Routing Protocols: Strong, expert-level knowledge of IP communication protocols and dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP) across firewalls and SD-WAN devices (Strictly Required).
• Datacenter Switching & L2/L3: In-depth experience configuring datacenter switching infrastructure (such as Cisco Nexus 9K series) and L2/L3 network architecture.
• Network Automation & Identity Management: Working experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins), network access control (Aruba ClearPass), and virtualization (VMware ESXi networking).
• Education & Experience: Related degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or 7 to 10 years of equivalent network engineering and architecture experience.
