D4S DY-4 Systems Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking an SMT Machine Operator/Assembler for the 3:30 pm – 12:00 midnight shift.

You will support SMT production activities, including online/offline equipment setup, daily operation of SMT placement equipment, stencil washers, and related manufacturing equipment. The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of manufacturing experience (preferably with pick and place equipment, paste printer and reflow ovens), and the ability to read work

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably with pick and place equipment, paste printer and reflow ovens.
• 3D AOI and X Ray experience is an asset.
• Ability to use measuring tools.
• SAP knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures for quality, safety, productivity, and material handling.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
• Identify and report damages, missing, or incorrect parts to the supervisor or lead hand.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Meet expected production and quality targets.
• Operate SMT placement equipment following Health & Safety guidelines.
• Perform SMT route steps and operate equipment including Laser Marking, SMT Printer, Pick and Place, and Reflow Ovens.
• Perform SMT Offline/Online setup activities and basic troubleshooting following procedures.
• Record production information or complete paperwork/system entries.
• Support shift rotations and collaborate with team members to meet production schedules.

As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will support SMT production activities, including online and offline equipment setup, daily operation of SMT placement equipment, stencil washers, and other associated manufacturing equipment.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Salary Range: $41,300 - $55,000 plus 10% shift premium Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Your Challenge:

• Follow established procedures for quality, safety, productivity, and material handling
• Follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams, and specifications
• Identify and report damages, missing, or incorrect parts to the appropriate supervisor or lead hand

• May contribute as a member of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety Committee
• Meet expected production and quality targets
• Operate SMT placement equipment efficiently following all Health & Safety guidelines
• Perform all SMT route steps and operate equipment including Laser Marking, SMT Printer operations, Pick and Place Machines and Reflow Ovens by following defined work instructions, procedures, guidelines and best practices.
• Perform all SMT Offline / Online set-up activities such as electronic feeder loading, stripping, scanning, etc. and basic troubleshooting following ME/MES Support written procedures, guidelines and best practices or direct communication
• Perform SMT QC as required to help support the line
• Perform specific equipment preventative maintenance tasks as defined by procedures
• Perform tray counting or SMT Offline setup when line is down
• Record production information or complete paperwork/system entries
• Responsible for all material handling duties, including lifting and managing daily supplies as required
• Willing to support shift rotations as required
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production schedules

What You Bring:

• High School diploma
• College certificate/diploma in areas such as manufacturing, mechanical engineering technology or electrical technology is considered an asset
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferably with pick and place equipment, paste printer and reflow ovens
• 3D AOI and X Ray experience is considered an asset
• Ability to use measuring tools
• Able to lift normal consumable supplies associated with the processes and utilization of lifting apparatus to move heavy loads
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly and efficiently to changes in the build schedule is required
• Demonstrated experience within a low volume high mix PWB assembly environment with preference given to direct experience operating and supporting SMT equipment and with an ability to minimize downtime and maximize output
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and team building skills are required
• Experience reading work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, or assembly drawings
• Experience working with formal procedures and supporting documents
• Good organizational skills
• Manufacturing, mechanical, electrical or industrial training is considered an asset
• SAP knowledge is considered an asset
