Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Division in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking an Engineering Applications Administrator onsite to manage engineering tools and configurations for complex software/hardware products. The role covers tool maintenance, access management and collaboration with vendors.

The candidate should have an engineering/IT/CS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, with strong debugging and knowledge of Siemens EDA, Jira/Confluence and Windchill.

Qualifications

• College or post-secondary degree in Engineering, IT or CS preferred.
• 4+ years of related work experience.
• Experience managing user permissions across multiple tools.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Working knowledge of Siemens EDA flow, Atlassian and Windchill tools.
• Understanding of standard Software Configuration Management practices.

Responsibilities

• Upgrading and maintaining Siemens EDA, Atlassian and PTC tools (DxDesigner, Expedition, Jira, Confluence).
• Debugging engineering tool issues and escalating to vendor as needed.
• Administering access-controlled tools (permissions, installations, support).
• Coordinating temporary licenses and annual renewals with vendors.
• Managing Engineering Shared Services Tools budget for licenses and maintenance.
• Administering Linux and Windows virtual environments for Engineering use with IT.

Engineering Applications Administrator - Onsite

We are looking for an Engineering Applications Administrator to join our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario! As our Engineering Applications Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration management and coordination of engineering tools usage for complex software/hardware products. This position will be responsible for the maintenance, administration and debugging of Schematic Capture and layout tools used in C5ISR as well as the Software Version Control and Problem tracking tools.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary Range: $82,100-$109,500 plus bonus opportunity

Your Challenge

• Administering access-controlled tools (permissions, installations, support)
• Working with vendors to obtain temporary licenses as needed as well as annual renewals
• Managing the Engineering Shared Services Tools budget for licenses and maintenance
• Administering Linux and Windows Virtual environment for Engineering use in conjunction with IT

What You Bring

• College or Post-Secondary degree in Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Sciences preferred
• 4+ years of related work experience
• Experience managing user permissions across multiple tools
• Strong Debugging skills
• Working knowledge of Siemens EDA flow, Atlassian and Windchill tools
• Understanding of standard Software Configuration Management and Engineering practices
• Software scripting and release experience is considered an asset
• Knowledge of Web Based tools using Java and Apache Tomcat are considered an asset
• Knowledge of Siemens DxDesigner and Expedition are considered an asset
• Knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill are considered an asset
• Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and Bit-Bucket are considered an asset
• Knowledge of Telelogic Doors is considered an asset
