Job description

What Is the Opportunity?

The New Nuclear Development team provides estimating, technical expertise, construction leadership, relationship management, and project management support during the early stages of new nuclear projects. These projects include both Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and large‑scale (gigawatt‑class) nuclear facilities. This role will support activities such as estimating, technology assessments, constructability reviews, schedule development, contract strategy and development, logistics planning, site planning, and other services typically required by clients during the early phases of nuclear project development. Current opportunities are located across North America (Canada and the United States) and Europe.

Aecon’s construction expertise and leadership during the development phase are critical to the successful delivery of new nuclear projects. The New Nuclear Development team advances projects from pre‑conceptual design through the Final Investment Decision (FID) and validation phases. Upon project approval, projects are typically transitioned to execution teams with continued support from New Nuclear Development as required.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Director, New Nuclear Development, and will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.
