Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Skills Development Senior Architect to lead capacity development and drive organisational performance in the commercial Banking skills Development team.

You will serve as a pract i ce leader in competency architecture, pedagogical engineering and transformation of learning practises, influencing multiple sectors and teams.

The role offers a hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling and strong opportunities for internal mobility and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • Significant experience in architecture of learning solutions, organisational development, transformation or organisational performance
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex solutions affecting several sectors, teams or clients
  • Expertise in performance analysis, competency architecture, pedagogical engineering and assessment of the impact of development initiatives
  • Experience in functional leadership and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in changing environments
  • Experience using artificial intelligence, learning technologies and data to support capacity development

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and impacts on organisational capacities to translate objectives into competencies, behaviours, paths and criteria
  • Design capacity architecture, development paths, coaching approaches, evaluation mechanisms and strategies
  • Lead end-to-end training and skills development solutions from analysis to deployment and evaluation
  • Engage business partners, content experts and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and relevance
  • Support managers and stakeholders in coaching, performance support and learning transfer
  • Measure capacity development impact using performance indicators

  • Analyze business needs and impacts on organisational capacities in order to translate strategic objectives into competencies, expected behaviours, development paths and proficiency criteria
  • Design the capacity architecture, development paths, coaching approaches, evaluation mechanisms and strategies to promote autonomy and sustainable performance
  • Lead the development of end-to-end training and skills development solutions, from analysis to deployment, quality assurance and evaluation of results
  • Engage and influence business partners, content experts and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the consistency, relevance and quality of the solutions deployed
  • Support managers, trainers and stakeholders in adopting best practises for coaching, performance support and learning transfer
  • Measuring capacity development and the impact of initiatives using performance indicators to assess their contribution to the sector's strategic priorities

The Vice-President – Talent and capacity Development brings together specialists who work in an agile, proactive and collaborative manner to support skills development and organisational performance.

You are part of a team of 18 colleagues in the commercial Banking sector and will report to the Senior Manager – skills Development. Our team stands out for its expertise, close collaboration with business partners and direct influence on the sector's strategic ambitions. Our goal is to offer you maximum flexibility to promote your quality of life. This includes a hybrid work environment and a flexible, adaptable schedule.

The Bank values continuous development and internal mobility. Our personalised training programs, based on on on-the-job learning, help you master your profession and develop new fields of expertise. Tools such as the Data Academy, language training, the Harvard Learning Centre and coaching and mentoring support are available to you at any time.
