Job description

Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7 AM‑3:30 PM; will transition to rotating continental shifts in the future. This position is 100% on‑site in Strathroy, Ontario.

The Role
  • Assemble, disassemble, install, repair, and fabricate machinery, equipment, spare parts, tooling, and facility components following technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, SOPs, standard practices, and site or OEM resources.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and control problems, correcting issues per technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Complete system support work (fuse changes, contactor resets, temperature controller adjustments, calibrations, PLCs, etc.) as trained; document work orders, PMs, calibration forms, and validation documents to cGMP/SOP standards.
  • Comply with PM, SOP, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute assigned PMs and work orders on schedule; support on‑site contractors for PM or project activity as needed.
  • Update the CMMS with required information.
  • Maintain tools, toolboxes, and shop areas in compliance with cGMP/SOP standards; maintain utilities needed to support the manufacturing lines, including steam boilers, purified water system, and liquid nitrogen system.
  • Collaborate with the team to proactively reduce downtime on the manufacturing line and ensure 24‑day operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
  • High School Diploma, GED/CAEC, or equivalent educational credential assessment (ECA) required.
  • Completion of Tradesman and Qualification Act requirements.
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician (309A, 442A) by the Ministry of Skills and Development.
  • Experience with shop tools, lathe, mills, grinders, drill presses, precision measurement instruments, power tools, technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, controllers, PLC & HMI, PID, calibration, and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting, and handling procedures; First Aid and CPR knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently according to schedule.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Basic computer skills for electronic maintenance documentation.
  • For non‑Canadian credentials, provide an evaluation confirming Canadian equivalency with the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
  • Physical requirements: ability to talk and hear, use manual dexterity, stand for long periods, walk, reach, bend or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl; visual acuity for close vision. Must be clean shaven to wear a respirator.
Pay

The final hourly rate may range from $42.20 to $47.20, depending on experience, industry experience, skillset, education, and business needs.
