Job summary

Cleaver-Brooks is seeking an Assembler – Electrical / Piping / Mechanical in Stratford, Ontario. The role involves assembling, installing and wiring electrical components, piping and mechanical systems per engineering drawings and industry standards.

You will read blueprints, cut and bend pipes, install panels, route conduits, and collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time project completion. Adherence to safety and quality standards is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in electrical is preferred.

  • 2nd Shift, Mon‑Thurs 4 pm–2 am
Description

The Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, electrical, piping and mechanical components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. The role requires hands‑on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Essential Functions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine electrical layouts and assembly procedures.
  • Install and wire electrical components such as panels, control systems, motors, and sensors.
  • Route conduits, label and terminate wires according to blueprint drawings.
  • Measure and cut pipes to required lengths using various tools such as pipe cutters, saws, and torches.
  • Thread, groove, bend, and shape pipes using manual or powered tools and machines.
  • Install and secure pipes in position using brackets, clamps, and hangers.
  • Assemble and install pipe fittings, valves, and other components such as pumps and compressors.
  • Perform repairs or modifications to existing pipe systems as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in electrical is preferred.
Experience
  • Proven experience in electrical, piping, or mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficient in cutting, threading, and bending pipes.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Working Conditions and Hazards

Normal plant, shop, field, or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible or no exposure.
