Job summary

Empire Roofing Corporation is seeking an experienced Skilled Roofing Labourer to join our GTA-based team. You will work on commercial roofing projects, assisting with installations, inspections, and maintenance to uphold safety and quality.

This role emphasizes physical work, TPO system exposure, and collaboration with journeypersons, with opportunities for growth within a respected national contractor known for safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Must have prior roofing labour experience.
• Willingness to learn commercial roofing systems (TPO asset).
• Physically demanding work including lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Valid Working at Heights Certification.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices (Ontario standards an asset).

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and replacement of commercial roofing systems, including TPO systems.
• Support vapour barrier and insulation installation on flat roof decks.
• Participate in new construction and re-roofing projects.
• Load, carry, and transport roofing materials and tools safely.
• Assist with roof inspections and minor repair work under supervision.
• Document basic service activities as directed.

We're currently seeking an experienced Skilled Roofing Labourer to join our growing team in the GTA.

You'll work on a variety of commercial roofing systems, tackle unique challenges every day, and have the opportunity to grow your career with one of the industry's most respected roofing contractors.

What You’ll Do

Production Duties:

• Assist roofing crews with the installation and replacement of commercial roofing systems, including TPO systems
• Support the installation of vapour barriers and insulation on flat roof decks
• Participate in new construction and re-roofing projects
• Carry, load, and transport roofing materials and tools safely

Service Duties:

• Assist with roof inspections, maintenance, and repair work
• Support leak investigations and minor repair activities
• Help complete service calls and emergency repair work under supervision
• Document basic service activities as directed

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare job sites, including loading/unloading materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining cleanliness
• Support the tear-off and disposal of existing roofing systems
• Operate basic roofing tools and equipment as directed
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with journeypersons, forepersons, and crew members
• Travel to various job sites as required

What You Bring

• Previous roofing labour experience
• Willingness to learn commercial roofing systems (TPO experience is an asset)
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting to 45 kg (100 lbs.)
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
• Valid Working at Heights Certification
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices (Ontario safety standards an asset)
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites
• Strong teamwork attitude and ability to take direction
• A valid G driver’s license is an asset
