Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in roofing.
• WHMIS certificate required.
• Working at Heights training required.
• Propane in Roofing certificate required.
• Personal Lift Platforms certificate required.
• Forklift Certification required.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate required.
• PPE Requirements certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace or install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials.
• Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems with asphalt felts, hot asphalt and gravel.
• Install and repair shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs.
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
• Pour hot asphalt and tar and detect leaks.
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces.
• Clean and maintain equipment and set up scaffolding as required.

Job description

Wage:

$48.97 per hour + benefits according to Union Provincial Collective Agreement (full-time position)

Various locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Province of Ontario

Job Description:

• Repair, replace or install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
• Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts, hot asphalt and gravel
• Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Pour hot asphalt and tar
• Detect leaks
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Set-up scaffolding as required
