Job summary

BEST Service Pros in Edmonton, AB, is hiring a supervisor to manage daily custodial operations and maintain clean, attractive common areas and washrooms. You will supervise teams, train new hires, and uphold safety standards while coordinating with leadership on staffing and supplies.

The role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to health and safety rules, and the ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and standard cleaning products, chemicals, and procedures.
• Basic computer and smartphone knowledge with MS Office.
• Ability to analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily duties of light and heavy-duty custodians.
• Train new hires and promote BEST’s mission and values.
• Communicate with Site Manager on staffing, safety, and supplies.
• Lead staff meetings to implement policies and safety requirements.
• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment and ensure safety.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and report vandalism and shortages.
• Other duties as required.

LOCATION:Edmonton, AB
SHIFT DAYS/HOURS: Tuesday to Friday 10:30pm - 6:30am
SALARY RANGE: $19 per hour

JOB OVERVIEW:
You will be responsible for ensuring your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting at all times. You will be responsible for supervising the day to day maintenance of common areas and washrooms, ensure quality control and training new hires.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily duties of both light and heavy-duty custodians
• Train new hires and foster BEST’s company culture, mission, and values
• Maintain open communication with Assistant Site Manager/Site Manager regarding staffing issues, safety, supplies, and other related business concerns
• Facilitate staff meetings as required to implement policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Maintain and secure storage areas and cleaning equipment/supplies ensuring the safety of staff and the public
• Perform minor equipment repairs and report vandalism
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages
• Other duties as required per business needs

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong verbaland written communication skills
• Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of WHMIS and standard cleaning products, chemicals, and procedures, is an asset
• Basic computer and smartphone knowledge with experience using MS Office programs
• Ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous supervisory experience considered an asset;
• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
