A leading company in commercial explosives is seeking a Site Supervisor for their Detour Lake mining facility. Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in Project Management, Mining, or Drill and Blast.
  • Project management experience, preferably in Open Pit Mining.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Compile blast reports and assist with hazard assessments.

What You’ll Do

As the Site Supervisor, you will deliver Dyno Nobel’s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company’s financial objectives at our Detour Lake mining facility in ON. Responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring that company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are current and followed by employees.
  2. Compiling blast reports (paper and electronic).
  3. Assisting with blast site hazard assessments to ensure a safe work environment for all involved.
  4. Communicating relevant information to the blast crew, including hazard assessment reviews during safety tailgate meetings.
  5. Ensuring all equipment used in operations is in good condition and maintenance schedules are followed.
  6. Adhering to all regulations (federally: TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHMIS; provincially: Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) related to personnel, product storage, and transportation.
  7. Managing time and payroll.
What We’re Looking For
  1. Post-secondary education related to Drilling, Blasting, Mining, Mineral Resources, or Project Management.
  2. Project management experience, preferably in Open Pit Mining.
  3. 3+ years experience in Project Management, Mining, or Drill and Blast.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in field-specific terminology.
  6. A positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team-oriented mindset.
