Job summary

The Hazelwood Group’s Pacific Industrial & Marine Ltd. (PIM) division seeks an experienced Marine Construction Site Supervisor to lead projects from planning through completion.

Based in Cowichan Bay, BC, the role combines frontline leadership with marine construction expertise to deliver high-performance systems and bridge work. You will manage crews, plan, schedule, coordinate resources, uphold safety and regulatory compliance, and liaise with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in marine construction site supervision.
  • Hands-on leadership with water-adjacent work.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, problem-solve in fast-paced environments.
  • Valid driver's license; First Aid, SVOP, and VHF are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations including planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, vessels and marine resources.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage quality control and resolve site issues quickly and effectively.
  • Support project budgets, change orders, and cost tracking.
  • Maintain timesheets and daily logs, reports, and project documents.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Keep crews aligned on priorities, schedules, and requirements.
  • Identify issues early and develop practical solutions.
  • Drive project close-out and ensure documentation is up to date.

What You’ll Do


  • Lead and work alongside crews to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to specification

  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, vessels, and other marine resources to keep projects moving

  • Champion a safety-first culture, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements

  • Manage quality control and resolve site issues quickly and effectively

  • Support project budgets, contracts, change orders, and cost tracking

  • Maintain accurate timesheets, daily logs, reports, and project documentation

  • Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders

  • Keep crews aligned on priorities, expectations, schedules, and project requirements

  • Identify potential issues early and work with the project team to develop practical solutions

  • Drive project close-out, ensuring deliverables are completed and documentation is accurate and up to date

  • Lead by example by maintaining a professional, accountable, and collaborative work environment


What You Bring


  • Proven experience in marine construction, site supervision, or project management

  • Hands-on experience working on or around the water

  • Strong understanding of applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations and compliance requirements

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • First Aid, SVOP, and VHF certifications are strong assets

  • A collaborative, accountable, and safety-first mindset

  • A genuine passion for building great projects and great teams
