Job summary

Minto Group is seeking a Site Superintendent for a high-rise project in Ottawa, responsible for supervising construction activities, ensuring on-schedule delivery, and maintaining budget compliance. The role requires coordinating trades, managing safety, and delivering quality output with strong leadership.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years in construction (high-rise preferred), a diploma in a relevant field, and proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; College Diploma a plus in architectural or construction management.
• 5–7 years in construction, preferably high-rise.
• Knowledge of Procore is an asset; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities on the assigned site to ensure on-schedule delivery.
• Coordinate work schedules and assign tasks to staff.
• Provide weekly status updates and maintain documentation and timesheets.
• Approve trade invoices for payment and order materials as needed.
• Review architectural changes and customer extras on drawings and plans.
• Ensure health and safety compliance per MOL and Minto policies.

Your place in our story

Supervise the construction activities of an assigned construction site to ensure units are delivered on schedule, with appropriate specifications, and on budget.

Here’s How You’ll Contribute

• Coordinates work schedules and assign work to all staff;
• Provides weekly updates and meetings on project status to all staff;
• Ensures all reports, records, timesheets, and relevant documentation are submitted on time;
• Approves trade partner invoices for payment;
• Orders construction material from suppliers i.e. steel, wood, windows, trusses;
• Reviews and revises architectural changes and customer extras on drawings and plans;
• Works with and manages the Warranty expectations throughout the project;
• Ensure after-hours and weekend security is in place for the construction site;
• Responsible for performance evaluation and career development plans of staff;
• Responsible for the Health and Safety requirements as per MOL regs and Minto’s H&S Policies;
• Continuously pursues cost-effective alternatives to improve financial performance in all areas;
• Accountable for the allowance budgets;
• Supervises, trains, and provides direction on all work performed on-site by trade partners, and Minto staff;
• Builds, manages, and maintains a high-performance team through effective talent recruitment, coaching, and development;
• Sets high standards, establishes accountabilities, and measures performance consistent with Minto’s Values;
• Inspects the work site continuously to ensure all Minto staff and trades partners abide by Ministry of Ontario Labour regulations and Minto’s Health & Safety Policies;
• Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

• High School Diploma is required, a College Diploma is an asset (i.e., architectural, construction management).
• Minimum five to seven (5-7) years in the construction industry (preferably high-rise).

Hiring pay range:

$115,000-$125,000
