Lorac Construction Ltd. is currently seeking highly motivated and reliable Site Superintendents with commercial construction experience. Our sites are located throughout Edmonton as well as the immediate surrounding areas.
- Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter certificate or equivalent is required.
- Must have a minimum three (3) years of progressive site supervision experience of subtrades and crews in a fast paced commercial construction environment.
- Experience running mid to large sized crew jobs in commercial construction environments is an asset.
- Must be able to provide a security clearance and complete pre-work fitness to work/Pre-Access A&D screening.
- Must own small hand tools.
- Must have own transportation with a valid driver’s license.
To be successful in this position, the candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to:
- Ensure safety procedures are in place, adequate for the scope of work and being followed by co-workers, subcontractors and visitors on-site.
- Teach/train/mentor apprentices.
- Use general construction tools and equipment.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Oversee day-to-day field activities.
- You should:
- Have strong organization and time management skills to support your ability to organize, direct and control on-site construction activities.
- Be personable, with strong people and conflict resolution skills to work well in multi-disciplinary teams of co-workers and subcontractors.
- Have the ability to promote a positive work environment.
- Have current 1 st Aid training, and relevant safety and supervisory certificates.
- Experience with all or some of the following would be considered an asset:
- Concrete and forming experience.
- Wood framing experience.
- Door and hardware experience.
- Bridgework.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Utilize blueprint reading skills to interpret project plans and layouts accurately.
- Oversee concrete forming activities, ensuring precise measurements and proper installation.
- Manage resources on on-site to meet scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation targets.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of carpenters and construction workers.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
