Job summary

Dyno Nobel in Canada seeks a Site Supervisor to lead operations on a three weeks on, three weeks off camp assignment on Baffin Island. You will manage people, equipment, and environmental safety while ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and the site security program.

You will develop staffing plans, supervise and train personnel, and work with engineering during commissioning of new equipment, while striving to reduce waste and improve efficiency in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; additional related work may substitute.
• Minimum 5 years progressive professional or technical responsibility.
• 2 years in supervisory role within a relevant industry.
• Experience with emulsion matrix manufacture, bulk truck delivery and on-bench blasting operations.
• Experience with safety, environment, quality, maintenance and training systems.
• Ability to interpret and convey operating procedures to staff.
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead site operations as established by company procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ Performance Standards and site security program.
• Proactively manage safety systems (PTW, MOC, HAT, Risk Assessment).
• Supervise and train personnel in safe operation and care of all equipment.
• Maintain training plans, procedures, policies and standards.
• Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability (EBIT).
• Manage maintenance systems for all company assets to required standards.
• Eliminate waste from site operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with field trials of new products and services; coordinate with engineering for new equipment commissioning.
