Job description

Position Summary

The Site Manager II performs exempt executive work such as supervising and directing the work of the sanitation crew, managing the budget (e.g., payroll, supplies, etc.), and billing our customers for services rendered. The primary duty entails the daily management of operations, including interviewing, hiring, training, setting and adjusting pay rates and hours, planning and directing work, maintaining sales, disciplining team members, handling complaints and grievances, and determining effective sanitation techniques to ensure compliance with governmental and customer specifications. The Site Manager II is typically the highest-ranking PSSI official at the customer’s facility. Due to the nature of this work, applicants must be 18 years or older.

Essential Functions/Job Duties

To qualify for the Site Manager II position, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Develops and implements operational strategies to meet performance, safety, timeliness, and budget goals.
  2. Controls site expenditures within approved budgets.
  3. Manages site usage of labor, supplies, and chemicals to meet P&L standards.
  4. Evaluates sanitation processes for potential cost savings, providing specific data to support recommendations.
  5. Monitors and reports on operational issues, opportunities, and improvements within established formats and timeframes.
  6. Communicates daily with the Area Manager regarding accidents, downtime, damage, and other critical issues.
  7. Coordinates daily reports with the Corporate office, including logs, payroll, chemical and supply orders, and timesheets.
  8. Conducts weekly safety audits of staff and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
  9. Sets, monitors, motivates, and tracks goals for the sanitation crew related to safety, cleanliness, and punctuality.
  10. Manages and develops direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and handling grievances and disciplinary actions.
  11. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, including those related to HR, safety, and operations.
  12. Implements training programs such as safety and ERP.
  13. Coordinates responses to governmental or customer deficiencies and reports and investigates accidents.
  14. Monitors treatment of injured team members and assists with workers’ compensation and restricted duties.
  15. Serves as the primary liaison with customers and attends relevant sanitation meetings.
  16. Communicates customer responsibilities and submits corrective action procedures as needed.
  17. Follows up to ensure customer issues are resolved satisfactorily and acts as liaison with regulatory agencies.
  18. Supports HR, Payroll, and Technical Services in dealings with government agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, write, add, and subtract; six months to one year of sanitation experience; basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word); ability to wear PPE; and ability to work in environments with extreme temperature fluctuations. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; skills in phone communication, recruiting, interviewing, people management, professionalism, attention to detail, safety, results orientation, accountability, approachability, customer service, independent thinking, honesty, leadership, motivation, and teaching.
