Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group, on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a major Newmarket project. Responsible for delivering a substantial groundworks package, coordinating subcontractors, and driving programme performance on a long-term freelance basis through March 2027.

You will work with the Project Manager and Senior Site Team to ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards, conduct site inspections, RAMS reviews, and maintain complete site

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager on major construction projects.
• Experience with Tier 1/Main Contractors is essential.
• Strong background managing groundworks and enabling works.
• SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid qualifications are required.
• Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Strong understanding of programme management and site logistics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.

• Managing day-to-day delivery of the groundworks package
• Coordinating groundworks subcontractors and ensuring programme milestones are achieved

This Site Manager role offers long-term freelance work through to March 2027, overseeing a significant groundworks package and working as part of a high-performing project team on a flagship development.

About the Role of Site Manager

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a substantial groundworks package on a large-scale construction project in Newmarket. Working alongside the Project Manager and Senior Site Team, you will coordinate subcontractors, drive programme performance, and ensure all works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager with Tier 1 or Main Contractor experience looking for long-term contract security and exposure to a major project.
