Site ManagerOur client is searching for a Site Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for working with the Sales team to achieve sales targets, manage compliance to ISO standards and drive sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing environment. A successful candidate will have a strong background and passion for leadership and operational management skills. This role reports directly to the Operations Director.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:- Lead and manage day-to-day machine shop operations
- Oversee production planning and ensure on-time delivery
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through manufacturing principles
- Foster a culture of safety which includes conducting regular safety audits and training
- Develop and maintain external customer relationships
- Support the sales team in preparing cost and lead-time estimates
- Lead efforts to obtain and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management standards
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and auditing of the Quality Management System
- Lead sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the machine shop, including CO2 emissions, energy usage, waste management, and water conservation
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and team-driven success
- Must be willing and able to coach and address topics with co-workers within the function where the direct managerial responsibility is based outside of Edmonton
- Provide plant and personnel resource requests during the annual budget process
- Monitor key performance indicators and take corrective actions
- Ability to read and understand financial statements
Your strengths include:- Bachelor’s Degree in either Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing or Business Administration
- 5+ years in a leadership role in a manufacturing or machine shop environment which includes 2 years of experience managing ISO programs, or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership, communication and people skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, with experience in managing audits and ensuring compliance
- Proficiency and production management tools, ERP systems, and other manufacturing technologies
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, costs, and KPIs
- A passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Willing and able to occasionally travel to customer sites or other company locations
- Ability to spend time in the machine shop environment, which may include exposure to industrial machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
