Job summary

GEF Seniors Housing in Edmonton is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support Central Services. The role involves general building maintenance, completing work orders, and assisting Maintenance Technicians. You will perform preventative maintenance, travel between sites as needed, and contribute to project work.

A high school diploma and a valid Class 5 license are required; 5th Class Power Engineering is a plus. Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 37.5 per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5th Class Power Engineering certificate is an asset.
• Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
• Plumbing & HVAC experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance (e.g., drywall repairs, zone valve replacements, thermostat maintenance).
• Track and complete work orders.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians as required.
• Contribute to project work.
• Conduct preventative maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Experience/Education Preference:

• Plumbing & HVAC Experience is desired.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous work experience in a similar occupation or applicable education is desired.
• 5th Class Power Engineering certificate is an asset.
• Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract.

Other Requirements:

• Strength in determining priorities with the need for flexibility.
• Ability to meet deadlines and respond calmly to stressful situations.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written is required.

Details:Full Time, Days, 37.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay Scale : $27.81 - $32.45 per hour

Location:Central Services, 14220 - 109 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 4B3 (travel between other GEF sites is required, mileage paid).
