Job summary

MARANT Construction Limited is seeking a Site Assistant in the Western Ontario region to perform physical labor on commercial construction projects. You will prepare sites, protect floors and finishes, and assist trades under the Site Superintendent’s direction.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1+ year of labor experience, valid driver's license, and relevant safety certifications. Opportunities include diverse projects with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary diploma preferred.
• WHMIS, Working from Heights and Basics in Supervision certifications required.
• First Aid and CPR knowledge preferred.
• Ability to operate required equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Operate scaffolding, shoring, braces and temporary structures as directed.
• Apply floor and finishes protection per site instructions.
• Grind, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools.
• Move materials to planned locations per project plans.
• Assist trades and supervise on site as needed.
• Demonstrate health and safety compliance and positive attitude.
• Collaborate with site superintendents and subcontractors to maximize performance.
• Maintain tidy work areas and ensure documentation is complete.
