Job summary

MARANT Construction Limited, a Western Ontario-based general contractor, seeks a Site Assistant for full-time work at commercial construction sites. The role involves hands-on labor, site prep, debris removal, and assisting trades under the Site Superintendent's guidance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and 1+ year of labor experience; WHMIS and height-safety certifications preferred. The position requires physical endurance and the ability to work flexible hours on busy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Post-Secondary diploma in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a General Laborer preferred.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• WHMIS, Working from Heights and Basics in Supervision certifications.
• First Aid and CPR knowledge preferred.
• Operate equipment safely and responsibly.
• Strong verbal and listening communication skills.
• Time management and basic math/analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites and remove hazards.
• Erect/disassemble scaffolding and temporary structures as directed.
• Apply floor and finishes protection per site directions.
• Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces with abrasive tools.
• Move materials and distribute per project plans.
• Assist crafts/trades and on-site personnel as needed.
• Demolish and salvage materials as required.
• Support site superintendent and monitor safety compliance.
