Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and keep documentation accurate.
• Standardize maintenance documentation and reporting.
• Daily rounds and preventative maintenance schedule; monitor plant issues.
• Winter: clear ice and snow from sidewalks, patios, exits.
• Prioritize items needing attention and fix as needed.
• Repair equipment and plant; refer to outside contractors as required.
• Store supplies; assist residents with moving furniture.
• Check safety of resident equipment on move-in (CSA approved electrical).
• Inspect rooms for mechanical hazards before move-in.
• Investigate accidents.
• Protect safety of residents, staff, public.
• Report near misses/injuries/accidents/equipment damage to Site Leader.
• Correct or report unsafe conditions; set a good example.

Silverado Creek Seniors Community in Calgary is looking for a skilled reliable and capable Maintenance Worker to join our team. The primary responsibilities include;

• Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance Program, ensuring that regular checks are completed and documentation is accurate.
• Works towards standardization of organizational documentation and reporting (eg. Maintenance Communication book).
• Daily rounds of the Home, completing preventative maintenance schedule and searching and monitoring for any plant concerns and/or potential issues.
• In winter – ensures sidewalks, patios, and all exit areas are clear of ice and snow.
• Prioritizes items needing attention and fixing.
• Repairs equipment/plant as able and necessary; refers to appropriate outside contractors as required for equipment and plant maintenance and /or repair and assists as necessary.
• Puts away supplies as delivered.
• Assists residents with moving of furniture when required.
• Checks safety of resident equipment upon move-in (eg. CSA approved electrical equipment such as radios, shavers).
• Ensures all rooms are inspected and free of mechanical hazards, prior to a resident moving in.
• Investigates all accidents.
• Ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
• Responsible to take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of residents, self, other workers and the general public.
• Reports any near miss, injury, and accident or equipment damage to Site Leader immediately and completes required reports.
• Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions and sets a good example.

The qualification required include;
