Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking local Sideboom Operators to join our Fort McMurray team for ongoing maintenance work at the Suncor Baseplant. This is a long-term opportunity to build a stable career with a trusted industry leader.

You will operate 594 and 587 sideboom models, perform pre-use inspections, work safely with a crew, and comply with Ledcor and regulatory health and safety requirements. Day and night shifts are available on a 14/7 rotation with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating sidebooms
  • Must interpret capacity charts and identify rigging requirements
  • Must understand the capacity of each component and the relationships between boom length, cable length, cable size and load limits
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Available for day/night shifts
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Operate 594 and 587 models safely and efficiently according to lift plan and site procedures
  • Lift and move pipe for fabrication and assembly
  • Work in tandem with other operators to safely carry sections of pipe
  • Exercise extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety
  • Perform pre-use inspections and equipment walk-arounds before operating
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Adhere to all Ledcor, client, and regulatory health, safety, and environmental requirements
