Job summary

Ledcor is seeking local Sideboom Operators for ongoing maintenance work in Fort McMurray AB. This is a long-term opportunity to gain industrial experience and advance your trade with a trusted industry leader.

Responsibilities include operating 594 and 587 models, lifting and moving pipe, and coordinating with fellow operators while maintaining strict site safety. Candidates must have 3+ years of sideboom experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years’ experience operating sidebooms.
• Interpret capacity charts and identify rigging requirements.
• Understand capacity and load relationships: boom length, cable length, size and loads.
• Pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Available for day/night shifts.
• Valid driver’s license.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate 594 and 587 models safely and efficiently according to lift plan and site procedures

• Lift and movepipefor fabrication and assembly

• Work in tandem with other operators to safely carry sections of pipe

• Exercise extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety

• Perform pre-useinspectionsand equipment walk-arounds before operating

• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

• Adhere to all Ledcor, client, and regulatory health, safety, and environmental requirements

Qualifications:

• Must be able to interpret capacity chart(s) and identify the rigging requirements

• Must be able to understand the capacity of each component and the relationships between the length of the boom, length of cable, cable size and load limits

• Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing

• Strong commitment to safety

• Available for day/night shifts

• Valid driver’s license
