Job summary

Ledcor is seeking experienced Equipment Operators to join our road building and reclamation project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will operate heavy equipment and support earthmoving activities while upholding safety and quality on a fast-paced site.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of dozer/excavator experience, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with GPS machine control. This role includes 12-hour shifts, 14 days on/7 off, camp accommodations, and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience operating dozers and excavators.
  • Road building, reclamation or mining experience preferred.
  • Experience with GPS machine control systems preferred.
  • Pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
  • Valid driver’s license and Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification.
  • CSO/OSS A safety orientation or CSTS 09 required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators (20–80 ton) and dozers (D6–D10).
  • Operate other equipment as required (grader, water truck, roller packer).
  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling and earthmoving.
  • Set up dumps for efficient cycle times and organize materials for loading.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections and daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.
  • Work with crew to meet production and quality targets.
  • Follow Ledcor and project safety policies.

Description

We're looking for experienced Equipment Operators to join our team on a road building and reclamation project in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Primarily operate Excavators (20 – 80 ton) and Dozers (D6 – D10)
  • Operate other equipment such as a grader, water truck and roller packer as required
  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling, and earthmoving activities
  • Set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping and separating of organized materials for the loading units
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
  • Work collaboratively with crew members to meet production and quality targets
  • Adhere to all Ledcor and project safety policies, procedures, and site requirements
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience operating dozers, excavators and other equipment
  • Previous experience in road building, reclamation work or mining are highly preferred
  • Experience using GPS machine control systems is preferred
  • Fine grading experience is considered an asset
  • Must be available for day / night shifts
  • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification
  • CSTS 09, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)
