Smitty's Furniture in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a part-time Showroom Assistant to support the Showroom Manager and store team in delivering the best possible customer experience.

Responsibilities include furniture assembly, minor repairs, showroom maintenance, floor moves, wiring artwork, price tag updates, and promotional changeovers, with emphasis on strong time management and teamwork. Competitive hourly wage plus benefits.

Qualifications

• High school and/or college certificate or diploma completed.
• 1+ years of experience in a support or maintenance role.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and communication.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Engaging and fostering customer relationships through in-store pick-ups & carry
• Moving, removing and placing furniture in the showroom & warehouse.
• Minor maintenance and repairs as needed in the showroom.
• Furniture assembly and minor furniture touch ups and repairs.
• Wiring and hanging artwork.
• Receiving and organizing incoming furniture to the store.
• Replacing missing or detached price tags.
• Promotional changeover.
• Other store operational support as needed

About the Position

Rooted in Smitty's vision to inspire connections and create warmth in every home, the Showroom Assistant supports this vision by supporting the Showroom Manager and store team in ensuring that every customer who enters the store is given the best possible customer experience. The Showroom Assistant needs to be proficient at time management and able to work both independently as well as, with others. The role provides support and assistance such as, but not limited to, furniture assembly, minor furniture repairs/touchups, general showroom maintenance, floor moves, wiring/hanging artwork, replacing missing or detached price tags, promotion changeover, and furniture pick up, etc.

This position is part-time, working approximately 15 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

• Engaging and fostering customer relationships through in-store pick-ups & carry
