Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a Software Engineering intern/co-op in Calgary, Alberta. The role involves working closely with our software engineers to build and maintain applications, with training across the full software development lifecycle.

You will contribute to design, testing, and deployment, while learning debugging techniques and documenting technical work. This paid co-op position runs for multiple term durations and offers hands-on experience in a leading tech company.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Canada-based university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts and programming in C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/MongoDB), and basic cloud/web development concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
• Receive training across the software development lifecycle from design to testing and deployment.
• Create scripts to automate parts of the development process and assist in debugging.

JOB DETAILS:

Location:

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Onsite/Hybrid:

This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

Winter Duration:

• 4 Months: January 11, 2027 to April 23, 2027
• 8 Months: January 11, 2027 to August 20, 2027

Summer Duration:

• 4 Months: May 3, 2027 to August 20, 2027
• 8 Months: May 3, 2027 to December 10, 2027

Fall Duration:

• 4 Months: September 13, 2027 to December 10, 2027

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

We areseekinghighlymotivated Software Engineering intern/co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role –

We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build andmaintainour software applications

• We willprovidetraining onthe full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports asneeded

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• You are currently enrolled in a Canada based University into a Bachelors degree program majoring inComputer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ComputerScienceor related discipline
• If you haveknowledge /experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply–
