Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Courier/Sorter Relief for a 20 hours/week hybrid role. You may work on the dock loading/unloading, or deliver packages to customers as part of the Courier shift. It is an on-call position with irregular scheduling, covering shifts as needed.

The role requires a valid Class 5 license, high school completion, and 3 years of driving experience with a clean record. Proficiency in English is necessary for daily communications with stakeholders.

Shift: 20 hours/week - Flexibility to work various shifts based on company needs. On-Call as needed.

Pay Rate:

• $19.28/hour when working the Sorter shift
• $21.84/hour when working the Courier shift

Description

The Courier/Sorter Relief is a hybrid role. The shift could be on the dock, loading and unloading packages from the trucks, or you could be required to work the Courier shift of delivering packages to the customers.

Called in as needed to cover shifts for 20 hours/week - Does not conform to a regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Load and unload trailers/trucks
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• Unload all curbside vehicles
• Load line haul trailers to ensure all pre-scheduled departures are met
• Scanning/Cubing/Reweighing

Additional Responsibilities

Education

Completion of High School
Completion of specific vocational courses
Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Experience

3 years of driving experience and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
