Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for diagnosing and repairing our machines. Manulift offers an exciting challenge by working on tasks ranging from oil changes to complex electrical and hydraulic systems.

As a Heavy Equipment Technician with Manulift, you will benefit from continuous training, coaching, and the opportunity to work on innovative projects with over 50 different equipment models!

Main Responsibilities

  1. Complete diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on our equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
  2. Complete work orders electronically and ensure work is correctly coded for invoicing.
  3. Electronically look up parts, manuals, schematics, etc.
  4. Order necessary parts to complete repairs.
  5. Conduct safety checks on equipment.
  6. Perform recalls and service bulletins.
  7. Occasionally work as part of a team to complete larger repairs.
  8. Communicate with the Shop Foreman regarding delays and challenges in repairs.
  9. Maintain neat and organized records of services and work in progress.
  10. Keep workspace clean, organized, and tidy.

Experience and Desired Skills

  • Must be licensed (421A, 310T, 310S).
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using a computer daily.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented and customer service-focused.
