Boart Longyear in Saskatoon, SK is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair drilling equipment, ensure safe operation, and meet production schedules.

The position offers an hourly wage of $37.70 to $50.68 CAD, travel opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including a pension plan, medical/dental/vision coverage, EAP, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Trade Certification (Red Seal) and completion of apprenticeship are required.
• 5-10 years of experience in the trade.
• Valid driver’s license (abstract required upon hire).
• Willing to travel as required.
• Willing to work outside and/or in a shop environment.
• First Aid Certification is required; Basic Safety Orientation is a plus.
• Local to Saskatoon area or willing to relocate.

• Check for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure compliance with regulatory specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Perform repair work on all Boart Longyear drilling equipment.
• May service specialty attachments or components and maintain, adjust and repair such items.
• Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed.
• Coordinate work with other departments and meet work schedules.
• Requisition parts, materials, and supplies.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
