Job summary

Boart Longyear Ltd. seeks a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Saskatoon Martensville team. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service drilling equipment, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance. The role requires reliability, strong shop performance, and travel as needed.

Local Saskatoon area candidates or those willing to relocate preferred; a Red Seal and apprenticeship completion are required, with 5–10 years of experience in the trade and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Red Seal trade certification and completion of an apprenticeship.
• 5–10 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience.
• Valid driver's license (abstract required upon hire).
• Willing to travel as required and to work outside or in a shop.
• Local to Saskatoon area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and diagnose faults to determine repair scope.
• Repair or replace defective parts and test repaired equipment.
• Maintain and lubricate equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Service Boart Longyear drilling equipment and attachments.
• Ensure safe working conditions and coordinate with other departments.
• Order parts and materials when needed; meet schedule deadlines.
