Job summary

Purdys Chocolatier in Fort St. John, BC, is seeking an enthusiastic Shop Manager to lead a new pop-up shop at Totem Mall. The role focuses on achieving profitability, maintaining efficient shop operations, and providing strong leadership to retail staff.

You will liaise with the Purdys Support Office to align with corporate policies and initiatives, while engaging customers and driving sales. This is a full-time, 6-month contract with open availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays,

Qualifications

• Two years of progressive management experience in a fast-paced retail/hospitality environment.
• Ability to lead, coach and schedule a diverse team.
• Proven track record of driving sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop operations and drive profitability for the pop-up shop.
• Recruit, interview and hire team members and provide ongoing coaching.
• Schedule staff to cover all shifts and ensure high service standards.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate with the Support Office as needed.

Expected salary range: $50,000-52,000 per year

Job Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic Shop Manager to join our new "pop-up" shop inTotem Mall (Fort St. John). The Shop Manager is responsible for achieving overall profitability, maintaining efficient shop operations, and providing effective leadership and management to the retail staff. This position serves as a liaison between the shop and the Purdys Support Office and positively supports its policies, programs and initiatives. Your success in this role will come from your ability to engage with customers, drive sales, and work in a team environment.

This is a full-time, 6-month contract position that requires open availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. There is the potential for this role to become permanent based on business needs and performance.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Use sales drive to achieve profit goals
• Provide Customer Obsessed Service and Sales through leadership by example, training, coaching, managing and scheduling others
• Select quality team members by effectively recruiting, interviewing and hiring
• Train and develop team members to become productive and promotable internal candidates
• Control inventory levels of product and supplies to meet daily requirements.
