Job summary

Boundary Equipment in Edmonton is seeking a Shop Labourer to support the repair and rebuild of large mining components. You will work alongside experienced welders and tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience with preparation, grinding, cleaning, disassembly, and material handling on a busy shop floor.

This is an excellent entry path for mechanically inclined individuals who want to grow a career in the skilled trades, with no welding experience required initially.

Qualifications

• Interest in welding, fabrication, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or skilled trades.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures and established work practices.
• Previous shop/manufacturing/construction experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Welders and other tradespeople throughout the repair and rebuild process.
• Clean and pressure-wash parts and components.
• Prepare components for repair through grinding, cleaning, scraping, and surface preparation.
• Assist with component disassembly and assembly.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Move, stage, load, and organize parts, materials, and equipment.
• Assist with painting and finishing completed components.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Perform additional shop and material-handling duties as required.
