Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Shop Foreman to join our automotive service team.

The Shop Foreman will provide hands-on technical leadership and support to our technicians while helping ensure repairs are diagnosed accurately, completed efficiently, and performed to a high standard of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex automotive problems, and helping a team succeed.

Red Seal / Licensed Automotive Technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership and support to automotive technicians.
• Assist technicians with difficult diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Diagnose and assist with complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, and other vehicle concerns.
• Review vehicle inspections and repair recommendations for accuracy and completeness.
• Help ensure repairs are completed properly and according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect completed repairs and assist with quality control and road testing when required.
• Assign and prioritize work based on technician skill level, workload, and shop requirements.
• Monitor workflow and help keep the shop operating efficiently.
• Support technicians with diagnostic procedures, technical information, and repair strategies.
• Mentor, coach, and assist in developing technicians.
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and management regarding diagnostic findings, repair requirements, and job status.
• Assist with parts identification and technical verification when required.
• Ensure proper use and care of shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic equipment.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable workplace and environmental regulations.
• Stay current with new automotive technology, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques.
• Lead by example and promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Red Seal / Licensed Automotive Technician preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic vehicle systems.
• Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
• Previous experience mentoring, training, or leading technicians.
• Strong understanding of vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, and general repairs.
• Ability to read and understand service information and repair procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple repairs in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
