Job summary

Alleguard in Ontario is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee loading of finished goods and coordinate teams across shifts. You will drive on-time shipping, enforce safety rules, and partner with production to optimize inventory and workflow.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a lead or supervisor in manufacturing, strong leadership, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. This role is on site with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years proven experience as a lead or production supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of raw and finished product specifications.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision - self starter.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and direct teams to meet loading accuracy and productivity targets.
• Provide performance feedback and discipline as needed.
• Assign employees to locations based on priorities and shipping schedules.
• Provide root cause analysis for shift issues.
• Report KPI’s daily and weekly to plant management.
• Balance labor cost with productivity requirements.
• Motivate and develop subordinates to optimize performance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in shipping and dock areas.
• Ensure and maintain safe working environment with trailer wheel chocks and dock safety chains.
• Oversee routine housekeeping and inventories across multiple sites.
• Process incoming shipments timely and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Monitor raw material inventory and order materials as needed for production.

Job Summary

Reports to Plant Manager and is responsible for the oversight of Shipping Department and the supervisory functions relating to planning, organizing, and leading a team to accurately load finished goods and other products to meet department objectives. Provides direct and indirect supervision over multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ability to lead, motivate, and direct individuals and teams to meet stated company objectives in loading accuracy and productivity.
• Provide performance feedback, positive encouragement, and issue discipline as needed.
• Assign employees to correct location based on priorities and to prevent deviations from shipping schedules.
• Provide root cause analysis for issues that arise during shift.
• Report KPI’s for their shift daily, and weekly, to plant management group.
• Balance the level of labor cost and productivity requirements during assigned
• Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and personal
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness and organization in the shipping and truck dock areas including the outside trailer apron.
• Maintains a safe working environment including ensuring trailer wheel chocks and dock safety chains are in place and maintained in good condition.
• Oversee other routine housekeeping as required.
• Ensure and maintain accurate multisite warehouse inventories, reports, and correct any discrepancies.
• Ensure all incoming shipments are processed and received in a timely manner.
• Monitor raw material inventory and order raw materials as needed for production.
• Performs any other tasks as may be assigned by the Plant Manager or Production Manager.
• Assist in related department activities and perform related duties, as required.
