Job summary

Alleguard is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support keeping machines and facilities in top condition. You will perform preventive maintenance on production equipment such as wire cutters, wrappers, and grinders, assist machine operators with changeovers, lockout/tagout, and troubleshoot during production.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of building systems, prior repair experience, strong safety awareness, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Basic technical knowledge of building systems.
• Previous experience repairing machinery.
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
• High school diploma; vocational/technical training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines operate smoothly and buildings stay in good condition.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools; reassemble equipment.
• Install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, piping systems and related machinery.
• Escalate issues to leadership as appropriate.
• Perform tool changeovers.
• Comply with environmental, legal, and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects and impacts of activities.
• Follow all environmental and safety policies.
• Assist with machine operation as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position: Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary

Assists Maintenance to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility clearly and in repair. Performs preventative maintenance onvarious typesof production equipment, including but not limited to horizontal/vertical wire cutters, wrappers, grinders, etc. Assists Machine Operators with changeovers, wire setting, Lock Out Tag Out, and other machine maintenance as needed. Assists Operators with trouble shooting during production run.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to runsmoothly,building systemsoperateefficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Assemble,installor repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing,machineryand equipment.
• Escalate issues to Leadership as appropriate
• Perform tool changeovers
• Comply withlegal, environmental, and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
• Know the environmental impacts associated with your activities.
• Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
• Comply withprocedures, regulations, and instructionsofenvironmental and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Basic technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical,heatingetc.)
• Previousexperience repairing machinery
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations

Physical Demands

• Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low tohigh temperaturesand humidity.
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
