Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Shipping/Receiving General Labourer to support our Fruitland Manufacturing facility in Stoney Creek, ON. The role focuses on accurate material movement, inventory control, and a safe warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will handle incoming/outgoing shipments, operate material handling equipment where qualified, and collaborate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams while following Lean principles and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to lift/move materials up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Strong inventory control and warehouse process knowledge.
  • Experience with shipping/receiving documentation and procedures.
  • Knowledge of domestic/international shipping is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Basic computer skills and WMS usage.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments with accurate quantities and documentation.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders, maintaining quality and safety.
  • Verify outbound shipments, including quantities, addresses, packaging, and docs.
  • Coordinate national and international shipping per carrier requirements.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and overhead cranes where qualified.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy via counts and reconciliations.
  • Support warehousing, distribution, and Lean practices for efficiency.
  • Uphold health, safety, warehousing, and shipping regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and timely team collaboration.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse areas.

Job Overview

The Shipping/Receiving General Labourer plays a key role in supporting warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory operations at Fruitland Manufacturing. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate movement of materials and finished goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting a safe and efficient warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments while ensuring accuracy of quantities and documentation.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders efficiently while maintaining company standards for quality and safety.
  • Verify outbound shipments, including quantities, shipping addresses, packaging requirements, and shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate national and international shipping activities while adhering to carrier-specific shipping requirements and procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklifts, reach trucks, and overhead cranes where qualified.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through physical counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory records.
  • Support warehousing and distribution operations by following established procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local health, safety, warehousing, and shipping regulations.
  • Follow Lean manufacturing principles and inventory management practices to support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers, carriers, drivers, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support other warehouse-related activities as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Experience working with shipping and receiving documentation and procedures.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping practices is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience working with inventory or warehouse management systems.
