Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Location: Toronto, ON

Summary:

A company in the manufacturing and packaging sector is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to manage day-to-day logistics operations. Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, this role is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring operational efficiency in the shipping area. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and experienced in freight coordination and pallet systems like CHEP.

This role offers the opportunity for long-term growth and development, with responsibilities expanding as experience and expertise increase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring smooth logistics operations
  • Prepare and manage shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs paperwork
  • Liaise with carriers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and secure freight quotes
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of CHEP pallet transactions and inventory
  • Verify accuracy of received and shipped goods, reporting any issues promptly
  • Organize inventory storage and manage incoming/outgoing stock
  • Complete packaging tasks based on customer specifications and deadlines
  • Submit internal and external shipping and receiving reports on a daily basis
  • Support material handling and forklift operations to optimize shipping flow
  • Follow and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow company safety protocols
  • Respond to shipping-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in physically moving goods (up to 40 lbs) as needed
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging setting
  • Forklift certification (Counterbalance and/or Reach) is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with ERP or transportation management systems preferred
  • Experience with CHEP pallet systems is a plus
  • Strong ethics, reliability, and integrity
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and departments
  • Skilled in multitasking, accountability, and conflict resolution
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Comfortable working independently and in team leadership roles
  • Physically capable of lifting 30–40 lbs when needed
