Job summary

AGI is seeking an assembler to join our manufacturing team in Saskatoon. You will assemble products according to specifications and drawings using hand and power tools, reading work orders, and ensuring components fit to exact tolerances.

You'll work independently or as part of a team, maintaining safety standards and quality while rotating through assembly areas as needed to meet customer demands.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Ability to read blueprints and tape measures; perform basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products per specifications and drawings using hand tools; finish products for sales to customers.
  • Read work orders and blueprints to determine part placement and assembly sequence.
  • Fasten parts with bolts, screws, rivets or other fasteners using hand and power tools.
  • May remove small quantities of metal with files and scrapers to ensure close fit; rotate through areas as needed.

The Opportunity

Responsible for working both independently and as a team member to assemble products according to specifications and drawings by using various hand tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to work consistently in a safe and efficient manner with a variety of products, various components, to finish products for sales to customers.
  • Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled and/or must be able to read and understand a work order, blueprint and tape measure and tailor assembly accordingly to varying specifications.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand tools and portable power tools.
  • May remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
  • May perform assembly as specialist in one area or rotated to other areas where customer or shop demands dictate.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations, to supervisors and to co-workers of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Interpret blueprints and read tape measures.
