Job summary

The Specialty Manufacturing Company is seeking a Lead Shipping & Receiving Specialist to oversee daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse activities, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials, supplies, and finished goods.

This role provides guidance to the warehouse team, coordinates logistics with carriers and internal departments, maintains ERP/WMS records, and upholds safety and quality standards while supporting production needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
• Inspect received goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and communicate issues to appropriate departments.
• Prepare, package, label, and schedule outbound shipments according to customer requirements and company standards.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate records in ERP, warehouse management, or inventory tracking systems.
• Coordinate shipping schedules with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments.
• Train, mentor, and provide daily direction to Shipping & Receiving team members.
• Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper storage of materials.
• Troubleshoot shipping, receiving, and inventory issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and improving warehouse processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support production and operations teams by ensuring materials are available when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
