Job summary

Allmar Inc. Winnipeg is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to manage shipping, receiving, packing, unpacking, and records for parts, materials, and equipment.

You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth, accurate flow of materials through the branch and will work with internal teams, customers, and carriers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and delivers strong customer service while coordinating with drivers and warehouse staff.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years shipping/receiving experience with inventory control focus.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Determine efficient shipment methods; prepare bills of lading, invoices and docs.
• Pack goods, attach packing slips with accurate info and instructions.
• Direct delivery trucks to doors and assist loading/unloading.
• Inspect received goods, verify against invoices, record shortages, report damaged items.
• Return damaged items and route correctly.
• Unpack and store goods, maintain organized warehouse.
• Maintain records and trace lost/delayed shipments.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to arrange pickups/deliveries.
• Ensure documentation is complete and processed to support operations.
• Use systems to generate shipping labels and maintain records.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE; perform other duties as required.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, organized, and timely flow of materials through the branch. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and provides strong customer service when coordinating with internal teams, customers, and carriers.

Duties

• Determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of shipment; arrange deliveries and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents
• Assemble containers and crates, pack goods for shipment, and attach packing slips with accurate identifying information and shipping instructions
• Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated areas and assist with safe loading/unloading of goods
• Inspect and count received goods, verify against invoices and documentation, record shortages, and report or reject damaged goods
• Return damaged items and ensure they are routed correctly
• Unpack and store goods in appropriate locations, maintaining a well-organized warehouse
• Maintain accurate records and trace lost or delayed shipments as required
• Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and processed efficiently to support strong customer service and operational flow
• Prepare and process documents including bills of lading, packing slips, receiving documents, and picking tickets
• Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations
• Conduct regular safety checks, maintain safe working conditions, and report hazards
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment (training provided)
• Use computer systems to generate shipping labels and maintain records
• Follow all safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times
• Maintain general housekeeping and organization of work areas
• Perform other duties as required
