Reports To: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving position supports the Shipping and Receiving department's day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities include receiving incoming materials and products, preparing and loading outgoing shipments, verifying quantities and documentation, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are handled and stored appropriately.
The position works closely with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, production departments, warehouse personnel, and other areas of the facility to ensure materials and finished products are moved efficiently and accurately.
The successful candidate will maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, organization, and accuracy while contributing to an efficient and productive work environment.

Job Duties
- Receive incoming materials, components, supplies, and products.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other applicable documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for quantity, condition, and obvious damage.
- Report shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, or incorrect shipments to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare products and materials for shipment in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Pick, stage, package, and load materials and finished products for shipment.
- Verify shipping quantities, product identification, and documentation prior to shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving paperwork and records.
- Move and organize materials throughout the warehouse, yard, and designated storage areas.
- Ensure materials are properly identified, stored, and protected from damage.
- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels and locations.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment as required and authorized.
- Complete required equipment inspections and report any defects or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Assist production and other departments with material movement and delivery of required components.
- Follow established FIFO and material-handling procedures where applicable.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
- Ensure products are secured appropriately for transportation.
- Communicate shipping and receiving issues or delays to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment is an asset.
- Ability to safely operate various types of equipment and machinery.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read and complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company systems and software.Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safe work practices.
- Physically capable of performing the duties associated with material handling, including lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and working outdoors when required.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Valid forklift, crane, or other applicable equipment certifications are an asset.
