Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead operations at Mosport, Central Canada. You will drive safety, production, and frontline development while coordinating with maintenance, sales, and dispatch teams.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree or college diploma, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong computer skills with some knowledge of heavy equipment. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Must have education in relevant field as stated.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience in safety programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and instill a site-level safety culture with employees and contractors to aim for zero harm.
  • Lead daily huddles and liaise with JHSC to demonstrate safety commitment.
  • Develop, motivate, and train direct reports to maximize performance.
  • Assist in shift scheduling to meet production and sales demands and daily targets.
  • Participate in maintenance planning and short-term execution with the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate with sales/dispatch to meet daily customer requirements and safety standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Shift Supervisor oversees activities at Mosport, a large Sand and Gravel operation in Central Canada, providing leadership and professional growth opportunities in the Aggregate Industry. This role focuses on ensuring a safe work environment, optimizing production and maintenance, and managing frontline teams. The ideal candidate is curious, eager to learn, and digitally proficient, as training will be provided for technical elements of the job. Those with field experience and aggregate knowledge are also welcome to apply.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Develop and instill a site-level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees and contractors, aiming for "zero" harm.
  • Lead daily huddles and participate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety.
  • Directly responsible for the individual development, motivation, and training of all direct reports to maximize their performance.
  • Support shift scheduling to meet production and sales demands, and assist in meeting daily production targets.
  • Participate in the short-term planning and execution of maintenance activities with the maintenance department.
  • Assist in the administration of the site Contractor Safety Management program, including site orientations and auditing contractor performance.
  • Coordinate with sales and dispatch personnel to ensure daily customer requirements are met.
  • Support short-term planning and execution of activities in accordance with the Mining Plan.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: An undergraduate degree, college diploma, or equivalent field experience.
  • Required Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Required Technical Skills: Computer skills are a must, and a general knowledge about heavy mobile equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Travel Requirements: <5% travel.

  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent people management skills, disciplined and process-oriented, self-starter.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
