Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) invites applications for a Shift Supervisor. You will provide on-site retail services to CAF members and their families, supervise staff, manage POS terminals, and handle refunds and store security.

You will also support dry cleaning, lottery, and other front-line services as needed. The role requires cash handling, customer service focus, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse military community.

Qualifications

  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Handling Certification, as required.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Experience in personnel administration.
  • Experience in visual merchandising.
  • Experience in food and beverage preparation and service, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide retail services to CAF members and assist customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Open and close the store, hold keys, safe combinations, access codes and supervise employees.
  • Operate Point of Sale systems and handle refunds, voids and returns.
  • Prepare food and beverage orders and maintain cleanliness of food service areas.

THE ROLE

As a Shift Supervisor, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You deal with customer concerns or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and authorize refunds, voids, and returns. You hold keys, safe combinations, and access codes, and open and close the store as required. You supervise employees.

The Shift Supervisor may also provide a variety of other retail services, including: regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Food Handling Certification, as required
Experience
  • In cash handling
  • In personnel administration
  • In visual merchandising
  • In food and beverage preparation and service, as required
Competencies

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
