Job summary

The Homemaker at Lookout Housing and Health Society is responsible for cleaning duties to keep resident and shelter spaces tidy, reporting to the Site Manager at Lighthouse Shelter in Abbotsford. The role requires adherence to health and safety standards and the organization's code of ethics.

Hours are Sunday to Thursday, 08:30–16:30, with a 7.5 hour shift. Candidates must have Grade 12 and a valid Occupational First Aid Level 1; respirator fit testing is required.

Qualifications

• Strong physical and mental ability to perform work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, change and make beds; do laundry; keep supplies organized and stocked.
• General cleaning, laundry, washing and disinfecting areas.
• Organize donations and oversee and direct volunteers.
• Assist clientele with personal hygiene and nutrition as needed.
• Sleeping during shifts is not permitted.
• Maintain health and safety compliance as per program requirements.
