Job summary

RainCity Housing seeks an Assistant Manager to support program managers, oversee daily operations, and supervise staff within Sechelt Shelter on the Sunshine Coast. The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to policies, and ensuring services align with the community housing program.

The ideal candidate will have a health-related degree or equivalent, supervisory experience, and First Aid/CPR certification, with flexibility for after-hours on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• A B.A. in a relevant health discipline or equivalent experience.
• Training in supervisory and/or managerial functions.
• Four (4) years of recent related experience with people living with mental health issues, substance use and/or are at risk of being homeless.
• One (1) year in a supervisory, preferably managerial, capacity, and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the program and lead staff supervision and performance evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to program mandate, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and RainCity operations to integrate services with community systems.
• Replace the Program Manager during absences (vacations, illnesses, leaves).
