Job summary

Eagle’s Nest Stoney Family Shelter, operated by Stoney Nakoda First Nation, seeks a Custodian to maintain the shelter’s cleanliness and safety. You will follow cleaning schedules, restock essentials, and ensure spaces are clean for residents and staff.

Responsibilities include sanitation, organizing janitorial supplies, and light maintenance such as seasonal yard work. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and sensitivity to women and children in crisis.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Custodian is an asset.
• Ability to read safety instructions on labels.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety rules.
• Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
• Sensitive to the needs of women and children in crisis.
• WHMIS training an asset.
• First Aid/CPR certificate an asset.
• Must abide by policies and confidentiality and registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all areas of Eagle’s Nest Shelter.
• Abides by proper sanitation and health standards.
• Creates and maintains a cleaning schedule (daily/monthly/yearly).
• Cleans bathrooms, restocks supplies and empties garbage daily.
• Cleans bedrooms, offices and common areas; vacuums and mops floors.
• Cleans vehicles, windows and vents; maintains order of supplies.
• Shovels walkways in winter and assists with lawn care.
• Washes laundry and assists with light chores as needed.
• Moves equipment and ensures janitorial supplies are secured.
