Job summary

Alpha House Calgary is seeking a dedicated Janitor to maintain clean, safe environments across multiple sites. The role supports daily operations and adheres to Public Health standards while serving clients, staff and visitors with professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare or shelter cleaning experience, the ability to handle bodily fluids, and the stamina to work independently with strong time management. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Qualifications

Experience in commercial cleaning environments, especially health care or shelters is preferred.
Ability to clean bodily fluids when required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect walls, windows, floors, furniture, fixtures, equipment and other surfaces.
Dust, vacuum, mop and maintain all assigned areas.
Empty garbage and recycling, remove soiled linens as needed.
Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment safely and effectively.
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
Follow Health and Safety, Infection Prevention, and Public Health standards.
