Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Georgetown, Ontario is seeking a full-time, on-site production worker. The role involves maintaining continuous production, verifying routings and material quality, and preparing/slurrying materials according to process sheets.

You will operate tools such as hoists and measuring instruments, enter data in the computer, and follow EH&S and quality procedures to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Starts wage at $20.00 per hour and maintains continuous production with minimal downtime.
  • Verifies routings with castings to assure that all previous operations have been completed.
  • Verifies raw material quality and notifies team leader of non-conforming product.
  • Take out all slurry for lab testing and prepare top up slurries.
  • Ensure equipment functions properly and notify team leader of malfunctions.
  • Enter production in computer and read process sheets.
  • Maintain slurry tank levels and handle chemicals required by the shell department.
  • Perform loading/unloading and keep area clean with proper safety precautions.

Responsibilities

Starting Wage: $20.00 per hour.

This position is to fill a current vacancy.

Verifies routings with castings to assure that all previous operations have been completed .

Ensure continuous production, minimizing down time.

Verify and maintain all slurry post for proper slurry height.

Work closely with supervisor/ team leader, and other members of your team to coordinate your daily activities.

Verify raw material quality and notify your team leader of any non-conforming product. (ex.: sand, ludox, ipa, etc.)

Take out all slurry for lab testing.

Prepare all top up slurries.

Ensure that all the equipment function properly and notify your team leader of any malfunction that may occur.

Use product criteria and activity instructions for guidance.

Daily verifications of working tools (ex: clips, scrapers, etc) and notify your team leader if there is a shortage.

Verify that there is enough material to keep production constant (ex: sand in hoppers, slurry level in pots, material to make new slurry, etc.)

Eliminate waste caused by the process, material handling and unnecessary traveling.

Is responsible for reading the process sheets.

Is responsible for entering production in computer.

Keeps slurry tank filled with slurry .

Handles chemicals required by the shell department .

Cleans and prepares the parts before each dip .

Prefoms operations such as loading and unloading of shells (take down)

Is responsible for the general housekeeping of the area and is responsible for using the proper safety precautions .

Qualifications
