Job summary

Matrix HR is seeking Sheet Metal Workers for a major commercial construction project in Calgary, Alberta. Journeypersons and 3rd & 4th year Apprentices are welcome to apply.

Ideal candidates will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of reading blueprints and working in a professional construction environment. The role offers about 40 hours per week with potential overtime, a team-oriented workplace, and opportunities for future roles based on performance.

Qualifications

• Valid Sheet Metal Journeyperson Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal (for Journeypersons).
• Active Sheet Metal apprenticeship (for Apprentices).
• Third- or fourth-year apprentice status preferred.
• Applicable trade or apprenticeship hours and technical training.
• Previous commercial construction experience (asset).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products.
• Strong leadership and apprentice-training skills (for Journeypersons).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift more than 25 kilograms.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights and in awkward, elevated, or noisy environments.
• Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and spatial awareness.
• Required safety certifications: CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Lift Training.
